Within the 8th month of the project, SoilWise has kicked off the development of the SoilWise Repository (SWR), expected to have the MVP launched in September 2024 and the project has ended the first co-design process.
Project SoilWise has actively participated in different events, both conferences and meetings, promoting the project activities and constant work on both technical side of the project, related to the SWR development and the stakeholder engagement activities.
We recently participated in the ISLANDR Horizon EU progress meeting on March 11th, 2024 in Brussels. It was a fantastic opportunity to present our SoilWise project and discuss its role in the larger context of soil mission projects. We explored how these projects can work together harmoniously, sharing data and knowledge for greater impact.
At the European Geosciences Union General Assembly 2024, on the 19th of April, we participated in a session on data integration showcased innovative projects like the BonaRes Agricultural Long-Term Field Experiments Platform and its link to the our SoilWise Project. Attendees discussed how such initiatives can revolutionize soil science and ecosystem management. The event emphasized collaboration’s crucial role in addressing environmental challenges and highlighted data-driven approaches’ potential for promoting sustainability.
The AgriDataSpace event on the 23rd of April, 2024, convened industry stakeholders to address significant data challenges in AgriFood and enhance the attractiveness of Data Spaces, notably AgriDataSpace. Hosted in collaboration with the Green Deal Data Space | GREAT Project team, BDVA, and the Data Spaces Support Centre, the event spotlighted pressing issues. Panelists, including representatives from our SoilWise Project, emphasized data interoperability, standardization, and collaboration as key to unlocking agricultural data’s full potential. They underscored the importance of initiatives like AgriDataSpace in fostering data sharing and analysis to drive sustainable practices.
Our technical team gathered on the 25th, 26th, and 27th of March, 2024, in the captivating city of Bruges, Belgium for a pivotal project development meeting, celebrating the first project’s milestone. During this occasion, the technical team met to kick off the development of the SWR, and concrete action plans were set for the development of the Repository MVP scheduled for September 2024. For this purpose, the project partners engaged in teamwork to discuss the entire process and clarify important aspects of the development.
